Featured Articles :: Central Florida Zoo - There's always more to Zoo . . .

by Shonna Green (Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens)

No matter what your age, you will find a relaxing, entertaining, and educational experience for children-of-all-ages at the Central Florida Zoo.

As you enter this enchanted, tropical world, you stroll along shaded, winding boardwalks and paths as you watch towering elephants, catch a glimpse of zoo babies, search for the elusive cheetah, jump like a kangaroo, and listen to the song of the kookaburra. Or if you dare, meet some of the world’s most venomous reptiles in the Herpetarium. You can explore the interesting and bizarre world of insects at the Massey Services Insect Zoo located in the Wayne M. Densch Discovery Center. And if you feel like a spin, ride the rails with Champ the Train or jump on our animal carousel.

Young and old alike will enjoy events at the Zoo. Check out the Zoo’s Web site for details at www.centralfloridazoo.org.

Your kids will agree that summer ‘school’ is cool at the Zoo. Plunge into an amazing rainforest adventure or embark on an around the world expedition to meet animals and experience the life and cultures of other lands. Or experience what it’s like to be a zoo keeper by going behind-the-scenes and working with them during the Jr. Zoologist Class. Summer day camps and zoo classes are based on your child’s age and interest.

These are only a few of the programs the Central Florida Zoo offers. So you see . . . there is something for children-of-all-ages to do at the Zoo and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Some programs listed have a fee to participate. For more information, visit www.centralfloridazoo.org or call 407/323-4450.
